How does Victoria Idol work?

Eligible applicants have until September 12, 2008, to submit their applications to PEERS. To determine if you are eligible, check out the rules at “ Who can enter?”

What you’ll need to enter:

• a completed application form
• $30 entry fee (certified cheque or money order, made out to PEERS)
• recent photo for promotional purposes
• one-page bio telling us who you are

After the Call for Entries closes, we will notify you of the date of your appearance at a  live audition at The Bay Centre either Sept. 20 or 27. Please be prepared to sing a full song a capella – without backup music – when called to the stage.

Our panel of musical experts will judge those auditions and select the 48 best entries to proceed through a series of playoffs around the region starting in late October. The 48 contestants will be divided into groups of 12 and will compete at four venues around the region, with six contestants selected from each of those rounds to proceed to two semi-final events in late November. And six finalists from each of those two events will proceed to the Victoria Idol finale in January 2009.

Judges will pick first, second and third-place winners at the finale. The grand prize is a professionally recorded studio production of three songs, a $5,000 value.
